Weslaco - Robert Jimenez Amador 86, passed away on Saturday, April 11,2020 at Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home in McAllen. The longtime Weslaco resident and businessman was born on December 11,1933 to Nicolas and Margarita Amador in Martindale,Texas.Mr. Amador served in the United Staes Army attaining the rank of Corporal during the Korean War. In Weslaco Amador owned and operated The Exxon Service Station and farm in the mid valley sorghum annually. He also did custom harvesting in the valley and in Corpus Christi,Texas. He was self-employed throughout most of his life. Amador was active with the city of Weslaco Little League Baseball program as a coach and was a school board member at Progreso ISD. He is proceeded in death by his parents Nicolas and Margarita Amador, Brother Reynaldo Amador, Sisters Felicita and Teresa Amador and he is survived by his Children Robert ( Marbiel ) , David ( Sylvia) Amador, Diane (Jeff) Jones, Dimas ( Patricia) Amador. Brothers Ruben, Nick, Ramon, and Rene Amador. Sisters Nena and Elma Amador, Grandchildren Annette Jones, Josh, Jonathan, Nolan, Alec, Robert, Sophia, Thomas, Aaron, Jonathan, Darian, and Kelsea. A private viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 15,2020 from 11am to 5pm at Amador Funeral Home 1201 East Ferguson Ave in Pharr and on Thursday, April 16,2020 from 11am to 5pm at Amador Funeral Home in Pharr. A chapel service will be held on Friday,April 17,2020 at 10am at Amador Funeral Home in Pharr, with a private burial at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Amador Funeral Home in Pharr.
