Pharr - Dale Eugene McMillian 99, passed away on Sunday, August 24,2025 at Alfredo Gonzalez Veterans Nursing Home with his family by his side. Mr. McMillian was born on August 17,1926 to Earnest and Hazel McMillian in Missouri. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He lived a fruitful life of service. This included his time in the U.S. Army in World War II and 35 years in production and safety at Lake City Army Ammunition plant in Independence, MO. In his retirement years he served friends and neighbors at Tip O'Texas RV park by generously sharing his handyman and mechanical skills, his organizational skills supporting many social committees, and his leadership skills serving in the RV park church. Additionally, Dale spent many years transporting patients (mostly children) from the valley to Shriners Hospital for Children in Houston. He is survived by Clare McMillian, his wife of 72 years, also his daughter Dale (Cliff) Birdsell, two grandchildren Tim Birdsell and Lindsay Pearce and two great-grandchildren. Dale will be inurned at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dimas L. Amador-Funeral Director at Amador Funeral Home in Pharr.
